out of the Heisman Trophy. Period. Reggie Bush put a pathetic 82 yards and only one TD. Vince Young is hands down the best player in college football this year. He threw awesome, he ran awesome, he is awesome. What a waste of a Heisman vote. They should have voted tomorrow, after all was said and done. Young would have walked away with the trophy.

eh, it's about an overall season of performances, not just a game. I know what you mean tho T, Vince was out of this world last night. He took that game over and made it look easy!
I still think Bush was the right decision for the Heisman...it was close but i'm good with it. Sucks for Young that he faced two VERY good athletes..i don't know that you will ever see a more deserving group ever again. -

Agreed! If Bush got shut down that bad against a college defense, just wait until he gets in the pros and takes a smack from Urlacher or Lewis. They will crush him. Not to mention, Texas had the fastest defense USC played all year. The only thing that worked was the bigger runner up the middle. Well, in the pros the guys are going to be bigger AND faster. They will ahve more speed than most of the Texas players and deffinately mroe size. I don't think Bush will do as good at the next level as Young will. Young was outstanding as QB. I hope he goes this year. Atlanta needs to trade Vick for the opportunity to get Young. vince is awesome, but screwed? i think not. regie had an awesome year, over 2K on the ground, plus a ton of recieving yards. he ran for 500 yards in one game for God's sake.

Actually, it was 500 all purpose yards. But either way, he couldn't perform when his team needed him the most. And if you think Texas was fast, just wait until he gets in the pros. Those guys are even faster. He's going to need to add some weight because those big holes he had agaisnt all those weak Pac 10 teams are going to be redily availabe in the pros. Also, if he goes to Houston he's totaly phuked! They have the worse line ever. Car has gotten sacked more times in the last two years than any other QB in the last 5. Bush will achieve nothing in Houston unless they get him a whole new offensive line. Hell, the RB they have now is good, but not good enough to make up for a piss poor line. There was only one of those, his name was Barry Sanders. Bush is great outside, on the screen pass and on draw plays where he doesn't have to muscle his way through. could be wrong but didn't bush have over 5 yds per run, which is good
mac had two choices, try and shut down passing or running, there was no way in hell they could do both, it's a gamble
plus carroll is also a good coach, you take what the defense is giving you, the defense in second have was giving you pass and lenart was hot hot hot, so you go with hot hand, in most crucial game
bottom line, bush is phenomenal,
i don't think young got robbed at all

See, here's my point. Bush got stuffed while White (I think that's his name) ran all over Texas. The bigger guy was more successful. It wasn't like Texas completely shut the run down, they were just too fast for Bush to do his thing. My point being, the Pros are going to be even better than Texas. Bush, right now, does not have the power to play at the next level. Unless he has an offensive line like Aikman had in the 90's or dickerson had with teh Rams, he isn't going to do as well as he did agaist a weak Pac 10 conference. Now, on the flip side. Young goes and gains over 200 yards passing AND running agaisnt what sports analysts were saying was one of the greatest college defenses ever. That, IMO, is Heisman worthy. When USC finally met a worthy opponent, Bush got shut down. He couldn't out run the Texas defense, which means he probably wont out run too many Pro defenses either. Especially, if he goes to Houston. IMOI used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

All your point have some relevance, and I understand them. IMHO the other guy ran well cause they were thinking and focusing on Bush not him.
A career is not judged on day, or one game, just like a persons life.
IMHO Bush is like lightning in a bottle, I just haven't seen someone so fast in ages.
I understand your point on pro's and college. In college personal turns over every year, and you only play an opponent in your conference once a year, and non conf's sometimes once or twice a decade.
In pro's, same folks will see same player and play them ten times in five years.
So, what you say about Bush can also be said about Young in the pro's.
