Just so everyone knows, I've named my hernia Frank. I haven't decided if I'm going to let him post or not though.

I did show it to him. He snatched it from me and growled. He's a tough little bastard. I'll wait 'til he's sleeping...

              haha

You should be ok if you dont get it removed, but i dont know much about this stuff. My boyfriends twin brother got his removed a year ago. He didnt even know he had one, until he had to get his apendix out and the doc saw the hernia, so he removed it. There father has a huge one and hasnt gotten it out yet, but he doesnt do much lifting. His belly button is so gross though.

LOL, just wear your belt and be careful about your training 46. Pay attention to what your body tells you. And get your ass some health insurance incase Frank decides he's tired of being cooped up one day!

                    Re: hernia problem

I hear you guys! And trust me, I'm bored off my ass and would do anything for a job with health insurance. But it's kind of hard to get a job until I pass the Bar Exam. I'm going to the doctor on Monday and I think I'll check and see if my state has some kind of low-income health insurance. Kind of messed up that I have a law degree and no effin health insurance.

the bill was over 2k with all the bullshit, Dr. fees, hospital time, and the drugs and. I was still coverd under my Fathers insurance at the time, and he is a union electrician. so the copay wasnt bad at all. if its not that bad i would wait until u have proprer medical coverage. and yes i am a vain too.

                          Re: hernia problem

My wife has an umbilical hernia too. Her doc gave strict orders not to lift anything heavy. He also told her that if she starts feeling really sick all of the sudden of very constipated that she needs to go to the ER asap. This means that the hernia is strangulated(twisted like a kinked hose) and as mentioned earlier, that piece of intestine dies and needs to be removed. My wifes grandpa died a long time ago from this happening to him. I do have to mention that my wife is 7 months pregnant, making it a little more serious but I think alot of the precautions would still apply to you. Also hers is only the size of a marble or maybe a grape. Im not a doc either, just my $ .02 good luck man!

I agree that abs are important, but i thought hernias have nothing to do with ab training. The weaknesses at those points is congenital, they're there from birth, right?
