It seems to me if you go back nad read some of the comments of a lot of the Democratic senators from about 9-10 years ago, the big thing was to get Saddam out. The info they all had at that time was reporting WMds and the use of them on his people. They also stated that Saddaam was a "real threat" to our security as a nation.
With approx 14 resoultions that the U.N. passed for him to disarm, that were never enforced by any nation, Saddam had time to remove his WMDs to Syria. U.N. wep[ons insp[ectors were kicked out of Iran when ever Saddam wanted and were only allowed to search an area at his OK.
As far as the informatiom Bush presented to the Congress and Senate, only
6 (SIX) of any of then said they read the report. Kerry, Lieberman, Clinton,Dean,Pelosi have all admitted to NOT reading the report. But yet, They want Bushs' head on a platter.Now all of them are trying to use something they have not read as political fodder to turn and run.
Seems to me the Democratic party is being poll driven,much like their former president, Der Schlict Miester, Clinton. Any poll can be directed to get the result you want, but they seem to be targeting a very small and concentrated group,the vast left wing.
War is no good for anyone, and if it can be avoided,avoid it. But if you make the decisioon to go to war, then go full bore.Keep the meddling Congress and Senate out of it. Let the Generals that have gone to schools and wars do what they know how to do.You can not fight a politically correct war and not expect casualities. Unless you fight from 30,000 feet as was done in Bosnia.

It's not a pretty picture over there. But if you look at what Bush is trying to do and compare the numbers it's not that bad. Here's the facts: The number of soldiers killed vs the number of soldiers deployed in Iraq equates to 60 per 100,000. In Washington DC the ratio is 80 per 100,000. You have a better chance of getting killed just minding your own business in DC, which by the way has some of the toughest gun restrictions in the country, than you would participating in the war in Iraq. And for what? What are people dying for in DC? Drugs, cars, you looked at me the wrong way, what? Give me a break! The soldiers are over there trying to free a nation. These are soldiers who signed up with the understanding that their job may put them in a postion to be shot at. Anyone who joins the military without thinking about the possiblity they could be shot at is, not looking at the big picture. The military is dangerous. However, being in the military in Iraq is still not as dangerous as living in DC. But nobady talks about that. Nobody makes a big deal about all the americans dying in DC every year. Or what about Detroit? What about any other city with high murder numbers? Why doesn't anyone want to talk about those numbers?

I don't really see how random acts of murder equate to being sent to war? If you are just comparing fatality rates then the same can be said about natural disasters, car/motorcycle/plane accidents, diseases..etc. What is your point? I can leave DC or Detroit or anywhere else that has a high murder rate or high natural disaster fatality rate at will. I cannot leave a war at my own will? But then again a soldier accepts that responsibily when he/she signs up. So I guess I kind of/sort of see what you are getting at.

Saddam will get the punishment he deserves
A country takes time and effort and sacrifice to build
G.W. Bush has been the best leader as far as "the buck stops here"...Clinton, Bush-1, and the others passed the problem down the line
A democratic presence in the region will have a positive effect (note Libya allowed UN in recently)
Our troops are the best and bravest in the world, lead by a President with conviction and guts
I will never justify the acts of homicide bombers on innocent women and children and our soldiers just because the are "fed up"..period. I AM saying its wrong to do what those animals are doing. I cant believe that was even brought up.
And what policies are you referring to? OPEC's jacking us around after we have a hurricane come through and forcing us to pay $3.00 a gallon, or forcing us to pay $6.00 a gallon in the 1970's? Those camel jockeys over there aren't exactly hurting...They each have like 20 palaces each. Their people ought to be pissed at their leaders for not sharing the wealth, not us.

Honestly i think Bush is a good man, it is just i think that he wanted to finish what his father started, to the point of all costs. Is our private freedoms, not to mention our economic structure, worth the setbacks. Has what hes done actually made us a more secure nation?? Do you think your children will have social security, or the benifits our seniors have now when they reach that age? Maybe i think alot of you bros, have not been touched by this. Have you not taken a look in the trade journals to see how interest rates have plunged, or how many, not only private, but public businesses have gone into chapter 11 or closed their doors for good? I think, yes we have to now at least restructure Iraq's democracy, but that is it no more, and get the heck out of there. Rebuild? That is their prob, imo.
