Im still in disbelief. My friend Eric was shot in the head last night as he walked into his apartment. A little background on Eric. Eric owns a security business (bouncers) for 28 bars/clubs in NYC. He also did security for many celebrities. He had an HBO special on club bouncing called "Behind the Velvet Ropes" He's been doing security for years. This guy is an Army Ranger, worked special ops with CIA, DEA, this guy is mothafuckin bad ass to the max! The type of person you didnt need to know to know he was somebody. His presence was felt in every room he walked into. A great guy.
Last night he made his rounds as usual, collected some money, headed home around 4am or so. He had his gun which he can legally carry and about 9grand cash. As he's walking into his apartment, his key's in the door, someone walked behind him, shot him execution style in the back of the head. one shot. girlfriend heard the shot and ran down. she opened the front door and found him dead. From what she's tellin us, most of his head was pieces, unrecognizable. When the cops came, the found the gun he had, still in holster, and the 9grand of cash. So obviously this was not a robbery. This all smells to me like a hired hit. And for someone of his caliber not know or notice anything happen leaves me to believe this was a professional hit, someone thats done this before. Anyway, before I get myself shot, let me quit right now. They're rounding up everyone for questioning over the next couple of days. What really sucks is that he wont have an open casket wake. Anyway, im still in shock over whats happening. Ive never had a murder this close to home.
