In the fitness world "overtraining" has become the new buzzword. Just curious about anybody's experiences. What are some indications of overtraining? Is overtraining the result of wearing out muscles from hard training without allowing for regrowth or can a combo of intense weight training and cardio also instigate this condition?

IMO - 'overtraining' is something that some lazy bastard came up with to make himself feel better about being lazy. I think overtraing is possible, but the general consensus on what constitutes overtraing is somewhat skewed. Doing cardio 7 days a week and lifting for 1 hour a day 5 days a week is not overtraing if basic guidelines are adhered to. Work each muscle group once a week, etc..
I don't buy into it at all.The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.
