  • Things we take for granted

This past week was the most horrible week ever for me; Wilma made Miami(98%) lose power. In Aventura, we were on lockdown for 36hrs due to no electric.

I could go and on and on but I'm too tired to post the shit up. I had to wait in line for gas; 4.5hrs. I finally got our electric back on Friday night, had no cell to use because of the towers being down. Ate PB&J's for 4 nights....Shit was crazy here...I felt that the world ended here because the streets were empty...We still have some street lights out....Power is still not at 100% for Miami....I only worked out once this week due to Wilma....That's the reason I was gone for so long(for those who gave a shit, which was probably none )

Anyway, glad to be back and working finally. The court house is closed for another 2 weeks, which will bring my work down a bit, but oh well.

    Did I miss anything?

Bro I feel your pain. Went through that twice last year in Orlando when hurricances Frances and Jeanne hit. I had no power for 8 days from Frances. Lost power for 4 days from Jeanne. I didn't work for about 1.5 weeks. Luckily I still got paid though. But yeah bro going through all that sucks. As far as gas, it will always be a pain. Luckily I only waited for 45 minutes at the most. Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon. Did you get any structural damage?

No power is a pain. Went thru it awhile back when we had the black out. No tv, cant wash clothers, or eat at home, no phones, showers in the dark with flashlights, and it was in the damn summer and 85-90 degrees with no air conditioner! Yes, it is no picnic. So how are you other than that, and your dog?

I feel for you Rado...I know exactly what you've been through.

During hurricane Ivan I wasnt able to get onto the beach to see my property/house for over a month and when I did....it was hard enough to find my street, my house, and it was filled with everyone elses things and my things were gone! All I could do was cry over the time and money spent. I eventually had to bulldoze everything and rebuild.

We do take things for granted....it was truly a learning experience for me...and I'm sure I'll learn a lil more as we are expected to have terrible hurricane seasons until at least 2010 I believe. ???
