Went huntin this morning and this afternoon (if anyone is interested) no kills but saw some wildlife, and got my ass eatin up by skeeters. I cant wait for winter to get into full swing I love cold weather.

Thats right bowseason opened on sat. Tram, its mostly flat since it is in the south but the areas i hunt are mostly swamps and flooded timber with hard woods. When gun season comes in it will be nothing but clear cut timber tracts. Earlier this afternoon I went and did some scouting and the only time i didnt wear my snake chaps, I was walking down an old logging road and came about 6 inches from stepping on a copperhead. When I looked down his front half was already curled up ready to strike at my boot, so i pulled out my pistol and made him about 3 inches shorter.

Starr, I would love to elk hunt one of these days. My family has a vacation place out in Idaho in the sawtooth mountains and I see them out there all of the time.

Im a bow hunter and a surf/rock/jetty fisherman also. A good bro of mine nailed a 268 1/2 P&Y elk last year. This year and next im going for cougar, I love the change in weather also cept we get more rain on the coast than the cascades. No big deal the outdoors have allways been home for me. P.S. I lived in east Texas and know about the snakes, it's the Moccasins ya gotta watch.lolLeaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

MtMedic, I got to go hunting in south texas on the king ranch 2 years ago. It felt like I was doing something illegal though hunting over corn feeders, that is something I am not used to.

I never hunted like that, sitting in a box over a corn feeder. And I dont use a pack of dogs and bait either. What a joke huh ?Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

Yeah, Ive run some dogs before on deer, racoons, and hogs. Its fun but I have always been a stalk hunter. No bait and all fair chase...
