Re: Bush caused the disaster in New Orleans

the real issue is why are thousands people locked in a place and are being forced to stay, and why is new orleans becoming a police state. Also why has homeland security prohibited the red cross from delivering food? We knew about the hurricane a week before it hit but it took the death of thousands of Americans (on U.S soil) for bush to bring home troops.. this makes no sense to me.

Also its kind of interesting to me that funding was slashed and now halliburton is the company that is repairing NewOrleans..kinda weird

Bush gets a paycheck and an expence account. That's the money he controls. All other fed money only the congress can spend. The congress has the final say. DJ you have a lot to learn. The dems had control for for over 40 years did they fix it? Hell no they didn't. The world didn't just appear when Bush took office.

Yeah but there's this thing called technology. Technology doesn't just come out of thin air. It takes years and years for things to make technological advancements. They had funding funneled to New Orleans to hire engineers to find ways to make and design better levy systems and help make ways to stop something like this from happening. Bush took the money that funded that and gave it to the war instead. So in all essence every president & congress made sure the funding went their. All of a sudden Bush and his cronies come into power and the funding stops. Gee I wonder where I would assume all of this was Bush's fault.

If the democrats screwed up so bad then how come this nation is falling apart at the seams ever since Bush took office? And why are their so many naive & apparently blind people out there that don't see through his schemes?

Okay so Bush gets a paycheck and an expense account so whats your point? Do you think he doesn't have any of his own motives? The guy has been dealing with oil companies his entire life, so don't even begin to tell me that he has nothing to do with them! How do you know he doesn't have massive amounts of stock in those companies? Lets just say for arguments sake that he wasn't allowed to have stock in anything like that because he's president (I'm not sure what presidents are allowed when it comes to trading stocks)......Don't you think he would know enough to purchase stock in a family members name? You obviously have alot to learn yourself.

Here's more proof this idiot has his own motives........

Here's a direct quote from Bush referring to the executive order making federal funding available to faith-based organizations......

"It's not a dictatorship in Washington, but I tried to make it one in that instance."

That was a direct quote. This guy has come outright and said that he makes decisions based on what he thinks god wants. Yeah good call Bush! Ever hear of seperation of church from state? He tried to force things thru that he wanted. He always tries to bypass congress and veto things. This guy runs our country like a dictatorship and admits it. Then these supporters have the audacity to tell me that he's a good president, and kerry was an idiot! WHY BECAUSE HE WOULD RUN IT LIKE A DEMOCRACY LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE?

I love how all bush supporters defend him with no direct proof. All they do is point the finger at Democrats. Well if you look what I've posted so far not once have I pointed a finger at Republicans. I point the finger at Bush and his cronies. There are a few good Republicans, just like there is a few good Democrats. See unlike the majority I have the logic, and brain to not choose a side but to choose whoever is the best canidate based on his accomplishments, intelligence, and showmanship. I look for who the best leader is. Both parties have very valid points on alot of things, just like both parties have some very stupid beliefs.

You can tell me I have alot to learn, but atleast I do my homework before I vote. Can you say the same thing?

Another thing.......Instead of pointing the finger at Democrats & everyone else that you can think of. How about you start giving me links to places that support what you say. I provided links of what I said and you still said it was false. Atleast my claims have facts to back them up. Where's the credibility in your claims?

Dear DJ I'm more then twice your age. If you were right about Bush then he wouldn't be president. If Bush was bad he wouldn't had been voted back in. This country isn't going to kiss your ass just to make you happy. It really doesn't matter who holds the highest office because either way you wouldn't be happy. Your doomsday mindset controls your thoughts and actions. This world will never be perfect and today is just another day in history. In terms of history this world is getting better all the time your just to young to see it.
You didn't provide links only one link and just the one to support what you believe. The truth is cost vs risk was weighted by the congress in a gamble over the lifes of people who in turned gambled on believing they would be safe even after they were told to leave to be safe. And in closing there is no real safe place to be only places that are somewhat safer then others. All living things run the risk of dying without notice. So always guard your life and weight the risk you are willing to live or die by. And over time you will gather a better understanding of how things work and why the world is the way it is. I was once young and believed as you do but time and my understanding grew and proved me wrong. So for now older and wiser people are in charge and doing the best they can. Beleive it or not but Bush isn't out to fuck you. For now Bush is the best we can find and when we can find better then they will hold the highest office in this land.

That was an absolutely ingnorant statement. Age is nothing but a number. I hate to say it but age doesn't define one's intelligence. Age does give one experience and common knowledge. But it doesn't mean that your more intelligent than the next guy. Half the time when I have face to face conversations with people older than me they have no clue what I'm talking about. Gee maybe it's cause I'm not as smart as them.

Bush being president doesn't mean I was wrong. Did you watch the elections? If you did you would realize it was a very close race. So obviously he just scraped by. Kerry could have fought the results because we all know that Bush had this thing rigged. But Kerry didn't want to win like that. The only reason Bush won again was because all of the damn christian voters don't use their fucking brains. They vote based on their religon. Absolutely stupid! More people have died in the name of the lord than from any other thing in history. Bush is adding to that with the Iraq war! He even openly admits he tries to make decisons that god would be happy with. Did you ever think that maybe this whole country doesn't believe the way that he does? Did you ever think we have this thing that's called freedom of religon? If we have freedom of religon, how is it legal that our president is making decisions on HIS religous beliefs? He should be making decisons that are best for the country as a whole, because he is not just representing christians! He's representing the whole country! But you already knew that being so much older & wiser than me.

I never said this country should kiss my ass to make me happy! Unlike you I believe in equality & that this country should be run like a democracy, not a dictatorship. The guy openly admits that he tries to run it like a dictatorship! HE EVEN SAYS IT IN RECORDED SPEECHES! Where in my posts did I say they should run this country the way I want? The only thing I disagree with is the fact that this idiot only does things that are in his best interests instead of the countries best interest. Do you know why George Bush SR never invaded Iraq during the gulf war? He said in a book that he wrote that "HE SAW NO EXIT STRATEGY IN IRAQ!" Gee doesn't that sound familiar? Looks like George Jr isn't as smart as his old man and now thousands of americans lives will be expendable because of his incompetence. But yeah your right I'm just a young, immature, stupid punk. What the hell do I know?

Yeah your older than me huh? Real mature! I've yet to see any ownage going on in this debate. All you do is tell me I'm wrong. How about some facts? How about some reasoning to why the decsions he makes are right? How about facts that Kerry was so horrible? Maybe then you can claim ownage! But as of now....Your my ***** in this debate!

Re: Bush caused the disaster in New Orleans

Ontop of your claims that people were told to leave New Orleans, if you happened to watch this thing called a television you would've heard that the people that stayed didn't have the means of leaving. Let me try to make that understandable to you.....THEY HAD NO MONEY OR TRANSPORTATION! GOT IT? There were thousands upon thousands of people and the public transportation wasn't enough to get them out of New Orleans in time. So your right old wise man! Get a clue!

Oh and btw just so you know it has been proven that the voting machines were rigged so your claims that Bush made it back in office sucks! I don't have a doomsday mindset. Rather I use my brain to realize that every empire falls. Laugh all you want at that statement but we've only been a world power for about 100 years. The roman empire ran things for thousands of years. China was a world power at one point. All empire's come to an end. Usually it's because of greed, or because they start fighting in the name of the lord. Does this sound familiar? Should since your so much more intelligent than myself.

Unemployment is up, Crime rates are soaring, Housing prices are up while wages are not climbing, Insurance rates are unattainable for half of america (which is why a study showed that a huge chunk of America is uninsured), Illegal immigration is out of control, Thousands are dying in New Orleans, Thousands are dying in Iraq, Gas prices are at record levels, There is rolling black outs in many states, Energy costs have surged in many parts of the country, Companies are downsizing, Many are bankrupt.

So yeah your right ever since Bush got in office he's done wonders for this country.

Oh, and for the record I never once complained when Bush SR, or Clinton was in office. So I was happy with every other president. So I hope you like the way your foot tastes on that comment!

Re: Bush caused the disaster in New Orleans

Here's some more fuel for the fire! Here's a letter from Michael Moore to George Bush. Kind of funny how he knows to hit the nail on the head. Bush supporters spin all you want.

                                Friday, September 2nd, 2005

                                Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

                                Yours,

                                Michael Moore

She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.
