WHEN I CLICK ON MY WIFES EMAIL ICON WICH IS OUTLOOK EXPRESS IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO LOAD ON MY COMPUTER. THEN WHEN I X OUT IT JUST DOESNT X OUT FAST THE PAGE SCROLLS DOWN THE MONITOR REAL SLOW. ANY IDEAS

I know exactly what you mean.....I dont even use MS Outlook but whenever you click to send an email its the default program and it has always taken a minute to load on my PC's no matter what, even on fast machines, except for on my vaio that has 2gigs of ram, i think it just has to do with the size of the program, thats why it takes a minute to load. When x'ing out im not sure about, could be performance related.

I use Outlook and i have high speed cable access. What kind of hookup do you have? Ive not had a prob with it. It may be that you are not configured properly thru your IP.

Outlook express sucks.. simple as that... even if you have cable/dsl it will still run slow.. for some reason..

And these new`er versions are associated with AIM/MSN and other messenger programs that just popup out of blue..

Get some other e-mail program. I know Mozzila offers one.. you will have to setup everything again

- Your Username
- Your - Password
- incoming server: mail.comcast.net
- outgoing server: stmp.comcast.net

he is talking about when opening the application and closing....so I dont think connection speed would matter, i have dsl and its the same way for me, that program sucks thats why i dont use it.

How many programs do you have loading on boot up? Remove the ones you don't need I'm not saying to remove the programs just don't let them load on boot up. Look in the start up section and delete the shortcuts there. Use regedit from the run promp to see what's loaded there but only if you know what your doing.

What im saying is that it my not be configured correctly whether he has dialup of cable. I use Outlook and have no problems with it opening or closing slowly.

could be one of 2 things.. slow computer, or slow internet connection.
if ur computer is slow, has little memory and hd space, it will take for ever for outlook to load cuz it's a pretty big program (requires lots of resources)..... or u maybe have tons of programs running at the same time, which slows down the computer as well and thus all the programs running...
or it could be the internet connection..... the default setting on outlook is that it checks for email once it's opened, and before shutting it down as well. so when u open it and it's taking for ever to load, it's cuz the outlook is communicating with ur server and trying to find out if there r any new emails and if there are, it's trying to download them. so if u have a slow connection that will take quite some time...

but i think it's more likely the 1st option... try adding some more ram, that should help.. or just get a faster computer...

how old is the computer? what are the specs? cuz i got an old pll 400, and i'm using winXP with outlook pro, and it loads it in seconds... got no problems with outlook...
