      Re: SUN SCREEN

I havent been to the beach all Summer, I go the tanning salon and dont use any there, but when I do go to the beach I use spf 15-18.

Here's some interesting info on application and spf factors:

Sunscreen SPF ratings are determined in the United States on the basis of testing at 2 Mg/CM2. The rate in Europe is 1.5 Mg/CM2. In actual use, it would appear that far less is generallyapplied. Two studies have suggested that sunscreen use is between 0.5 mg and 1.0 Mg/CM2. Thus, sunscreen SPF 15, as it is commonly used, can have a real SPF between 3 and 7.

The average application rate of sunscreens is one-third that used during testing (i.e., an SPF 15 will act like SPF 5 because not enough sunscreen has been applied). The correct amount is enough to make the skin slightly white, transiently until absorbed.

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT BURN IN THE TANNING BEDS UVB RAYS CAN BE MORE HARMFUL THAN UVA SO BE SURE TO USE PROTECTANT FOR BOTH IF YOU TAN INDOORS.

That kinda defeats the purpose of tanning though blocking the rays?

anything around 15 should work well. no need for the spf 30-50.
