It doesn't get much better than that bro. It's gotta be tough on him assuming he's old enough to know what was going on as well as losing his mother, how old is he?

          Re: all mothers and fathers..

He just turned 13 the day before Mother's day. We were both very young when he was born. I think that's why things didn't work out between us. Anyway I've always been part of his life unlike myself growing up without a dad I vowed that I wouldn't let that happen to my kid no matter what! The night of the accident she died on the operating table we held each other and held her hand. That was the first time in his life he ever saw me cry it spooked him because he realized that his Dad was mortal too. I've been beaten down, done time, but I would have to say nothing compared to the feeling of powerlessness that came over me as my son wailed in agony! What's cool is now he's expressing an interest in wanting to go to the gym with me. Next tuesday is her birthday so we will go and bring her flowers.(Damn get the tissues!)He's the reason I left that lifestyle behind. He definatley brings out the best in me.

You sound like a real good dad, congrats there are so many out there that really don't give a shit. Much like yourself, I came up without my pops around and am now a single father with full custody of my two girls. Good luck bro and again, congrats on the custody issue.
