I gave my Testimony to the church Sunday....

Man, that was possibly the most difficult thing I think I've ever done. I have never gave my testimony to that many people at once. The first service I basically broke down like a little school girl trying to tell my story, which by the way is not easy to tell without stirring up some emotions. The second service was a lot easier. You should have seen the faces on these people. They were either bawling or they had this "holy crap" look on their face.

I have to admit, the people who can get up their and say "I grew up in a Christian home and went to a Christian school and a Christain college. I never really got into drinking or partying....." have it easy. There's nothing personal to put on the line. Me, I got so many skeletons in my closet that I even left out about 75% of the really bad stuff and people were still in tears or in dismay.

You can really tell the people who have had tough times in their life because they come up and thank you like you just did something for them. One dude came up and just hugged me and said "you were killing me man, just killing me" while he wiped his eyes. This dude was pretty damn big and looked pretty damn tough too, so I can only imagine he went through some similar stuff.

Anyways, I just wanted to share that with you guys.

Do they ever try and hold or use that against you, do they treat you differently, ect

My now wife was treated like shit when her church found out that she was having premariatle sex, they told her she was going to hell.

She has nothing to do with them now thanks to me and we are happily married (even though she farts some times) married, no children or anything just decided this was the person and she can put up with my shit and I'm will to help her work out her bad stuff also, with the help of beino sp


Just all through highschool and middle school all of the religious people acted like they were a class above us wheather they were richer/more achived or not.

I had a friend try an tell me he was a better person than be (not directly, but I challanged him of a game of who is better) I won but he thought he had an argument but he drinks, smokes weed, attempted to have an afair ect.

I knew that when we talked about religion when ever that was going to be that would be it.

But never the less what you did takes some serious courage and I'm sure you feel better as that will help you work your problems out, and helps bring reality back for people.

I really hate to hear that bro and I think that is the # 1 problem with Chritianity is the self-righteous group. The ones who think they have the right to judge you. It don't work that way. God and only God is the judge. If you want to give counsil that's one thing, but a Christian has no right to judge another human being. We are to love our neighbors and we do ourselves and we are to love our enemies. You can't love a person if you are always judging them.

I've been to churches like that and they are not practicing the Gospel as it was meant to be practiced. Period. No one in my church judges me, well maybe some might, but not to my face. The church I'm at is very Biblically sound. If it's not in the Bible we don't do it. Period. If it's in the Bible we do our best to practice it.

For instance, I get really worked up when Chritians go and protest gays with signs that say "God hates you" or "God hates fags" and such. One reason is because God doesn't hate anyone, he only hates sin. He loves all men and women and wants us to love all men and women as we would ourselves. The second reason is because these same Christians who feel they have the right to chastise one persons sin while not realizing they sin themselves. I will ask them "With God as yoru witness, have you never told a lie?", "With God as your withness, have you never sinned?" They usually shut up then.

As a Christian I don't surround myself with people wo live in willful sun because I know how fun it is and I don't need the temptation. However, I would never turn my back on those people if they needed me or my help and I would never judge them for something I lived myself. Maybe that's why I'm so understanding, but either way, that's what we are supposed to do. Be there for those in need, not chastise them for their choices. That's the difference between authentic Christianity and false Christianity.

I hope people benifitted from it. The only reason I agreed to tell the story was to show just how loving God really is. I did a lot of bad stuff and he was there to see me through it all the way. That's forgiveness man, no matter how you slice it. I should be dead or in prision, but I'm not and it's for a reason.
