Tattoo

I'm going today to get a half sleeve on my arm. I can't wait to see what it will look like! The guy is an awesome artist and is drawing my idea out for me. I just sat down with him and explained what I wanted and he took notes and said to come back Friday. It will take a couple sessions and should be donw next Thursday. I'll try to post a pic when it's finished.

2nd and final eh! I thought I wouldn't get anymore than the three I have and now I am looking at this one....lol. I went there to get an idea for either adding to one on my other arm (shoulder) to make it a sleeve or as a cover up and entire new tat. Then when I decide what I want he tells me it would look cleaner on my other arm and could be done in black work that way, otherwise I needed bright colors to cover the one on my other arm. Oh well, as long as they can all be covered up is all I care. This one will be pretty much a sleeve that ends where a short sleeve shirt does. I will probably have to get some more stuff added in to completely sleeve it under my arm too.

I got my first tattoo 2 years ago, and it's on my right shoulder blade, my 2nd one ever will be on my right thigh. Even when wearing shorts and a T, i want to have my tattoos covered up.

I do warn people who want to get one though, they're like doritos , u JUST cant have one.

I told him I want a medieval dragon that looks very different from other dragons in the head area, perhaps with horns, or something similar to the one in Lord of the Rings that Gandolf fights. I want it to look evil and big. The head should take up my shoulder area and the body run on down. I also asked him to include some skulls on the ground around it and smoke and fire coming out of the nose and mouth. I will get the outline done today at 2PM pacific. I have confidence that he will come up with something cool.

i got a half sleeve too..how many hours are u planning on siting, mine took about 20 in total..if you have a good artist just give him the idea and lethim go with it..post some pics after if u can

That's bascially what I'm doing. He will sketch out the dragon and then go to work. The dragon itself will take about 4 hours total, 1 hour for outline today and approx. 3 hrs to finish. Then I will have to have some stuff filled in, perhaps a cave and some other stuff. I will post pics bro. Do you have any of yours?

Different artists charge different prices. The dragon itself is costing me $300. Therefore, if it takes 3-4 hours it would be 75-100 per hour. Plus I'll tip him 40 or 50 bucks. This artist is not in it to get rich. He has a nice shop with 3 or 4 guys working for him and they seem to be pretty reasonable. Plus, like me, he is ex Air Force.

fuck that i could never sit still for more then 2 hours. i didnt really like getting my first tag, the design is great and she did a great job, but it fucking hurt. I sat for 2.5 hours and hated it. I swore i wouldnt get another one, then a year later i got one on my other shoulder blade. it only took an hour so it was much better. best of luck bro. the pain is addictive in a weird way. but after getting one i need like a year off. but when ever i see a new one on someone else i think "fresh blood and ink, i need a new tag" def. post some pics when your done. your idea sounds cool.
