  • Getting my shoulder scoped

Has anyone ever had orthoscopic surgery on their shoulder. I have not been able to bench heavy, if at all, since Christmas. I had an MRI today and there is a bone spur with some severe scar tissue apparently. I will be scheduling the surgery tomorrow. I just want to get this over with and start lifting again. I am about 17 pounds lighter than where I like to be.

Has anyone have any experience with this? The Dr said it is a simple 45 minute procedure. I should be working out within a month and fully recovery in about 12 wks. Just wondering if anyone could share their experience/knowledge about this.

    Thanks

do a search in this forum, there are many of us who have had it done. this topic came up a few weeks ago.

i had it scoped it took about 3 months to make a full recovery, i had impingment, bursitis, a torn superspanadis, and a bone spur. it will be out patient surgery and youll get tons of pain killers. just ease back into the bodybuilding life style.

I'll be needing the same thing. I have a bone spur (type 2 chromium ?) and a torn rotator cuff in the rear. It happened about 2 years ago and I've since been able to strengthen around it, but I'll need the surgery sometime. I cant bench heavy either, nor do side or front delt raises, or even heavy curls.
