I have been sick for the last week with bad 100-102 temps, full body aches, and the worst sore throat. i lost 5 pounds this weeks. Im getting better now but i always seem to get them. I am thiking of getting my tonsils out. Did anyone get theres taken out as an adult? My Dr. kinda advised against it, because he said its worse as an adult. i get like 4-10 a year.
sore throats are not always a results of your tonsils (that is my understanding) - I, too get chronic sore throats. I always take zinc lonzenges when I get them as well as elderberry.
Make sure that you are taking vitamins daily and see if this helps.

Yea, I agree. Sore throats are usually the result of sinus drainage, usually. Anytime I have excess drainage I start to get a sore throat. But treat my sinuses with old fashion Benadryl (spelling?). If will dry me up. The only thing I don't like about it is it only lasts 4 hours but it workd good. It can make you drowzy too but I just deal with it. I notice that when I take Echinachea and Golden Seal on and off I get a lot less sinus infections, a lot less sinus related symptoms and I deffinately get sick a lot less.

Damn bro! You may have an upper respratory cronic sinus, due to allergies. I used to get them pretty much exactly with you are getting. They always started off with a bad sore throat and feeling like you get just before getting the flu. Id go see an Allergist. I been getting the allergy shots for about six yrs now and i only get the infection now maybe once a yr. Down near your tonsils, are they whiteish or real red? Do you get a small bump right behind the left or right side of the neck? If so this is sinus drainage going into the lymph node. An MD Allergist will prob give you an antibiotic that is specific to upper respratory infections. Mine prescribed Biaxin, and also Avelox. They both work fantastic with this, making the infection or at least the sore throat going away in a few days. I remember going for wks with no change or taking a very long time to go away, until i started to see an allergist. If you live in a state that is very damp, moisture and cold that is what it prob is, and i see your in Chicago, which is close to where im at.

i have bad alergies, I did do the imunitherapy when i was younger. I take claritin and always take my vitimans. I get sore throats and my glands really swell up and my neck get stiff. The Dr. perscribed Biaxin 500mg ( its a yellowish pill). My sore throat is gone but im caughing really bad now. i have like caughing fits and i taste blood. yummy. It just happens so often i kinda wanted to get my tonsils out. I had an ex that got hers out and she never got sore throats. I could have strepp and she could kiss me and not get it.
Do u guys think it would be a bad idea to get them out? Every time i get sick I go to the Dr. and i get anitbiotic. This shit is just killing my training.
