  • The power of Blue..

Blue surroundings, if not too dark, increase productivity. Studies show that students score higher, weightlifters lift heavier weights in blue rooms. People retain more when reading information written in blue text.

Here's the link http://psychology.about.com/library/...olor_blue1.htm you can go and see what other colors do to effect your mood and psyche. When you select a color click the "What researcher say about the color...." link to get teh details.

Yellow is not so good for rooms:

"Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic color, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism."

That pads are whatever color the owner orders. There is no standard color for either company. I've had blue ones, maroon ones, black ones, red ones, you name it. I've managed 9 different facilities in my time and we had different color pads at each facility. One company I was with even orderd the machines to be color coded. All leg equipment was Red, all back equipment was Green, all chest equipment was Yellow and all the arm and shoulder equipment was Blue. The Gound Zero (Free Motion) was white, except at my club (World Gym Executive Club) everything was stainless steel with black pads.
