I used Smokeless Tobaccoto many years. Fortunately for me my girl helped me quit. This guy I work with just returned from a 5 month absence. He had his lower jaw removed and chemo therapy. Not only am I sure it was a ***** to go thru, but he looks way different.

What is the harm done if someone only smoke say half a pack a week? I have friends who only smoke when they go out on the weekends or might have one a day on average...they say that will hardly effect them and is not all that bad...thoughts?

phuk that, 1/2 pack a week will lead to 1/2 pack aday and so on, for most of them...tell 'em to quit now..dont wait till it's a 2 pack aday habit!!

I have made that argument...and many of them have been smoking half a pack a week for almost a year...so they have proven me wrong on the 1/2 pack a week leading to a pack a day habit. Are there major health effects if you are smoking half a pack a week? If so what are they...often they say second hand smoke has more chance of killing them than half a pack a week.

                    Re: Tobacco

I used to smoke about 1/2 pack every 3-4 days for yrs, so i think most of it deals with how addicted you are and your willpower. I've seen ppl in their 80's -early 90's who smoked almost all their lives with no health probs, then there are those who die from cancer early on. I think alot of it depends on genetics. Of course im not condoning doing it. It is better never to start. What did you use SE chewing tobbaco or herbal cigarettes?
