5 million instructions per second is not an impressive thing... a Texas Instruments TMS320 (DSP chip) makes the same number of calculations per second and costs around $5.

The entire idea is just a marketing scheme to make people think they are getting some sort of remarkable product, when in fact, they are getting a glorified Reabok Pump...

i agree HB, for geeks like you and I, 5mil cps is nothing. i'm still impressed with the engineering that went behind all of it. its no doubt a marketing campaign for adidas. 'scheme' makes it sound dirty!! i guess you see it as 'big corporate adidas tryin to steal money from american consumers' . i might be one of the consumers myself! lol
