Man, lowering is a ***** - will you have to get a camber kit?
(ps, your's would do it for me, too - GG?)
If it didn't get you going just looking at it, it would once you went for a ride. Lotsa engine work means loud and fast. The engine is so cammed out that when you stop at a light, the whole car shakes..
Plus there's nothing like hitting that nitrous button and getting a 150 horsepower kick in the ass.
As far as lowering goes: Yes it's a real pain in the ass. For the rear axle, I broke down and bought lowering springs. But changing those bastards is a real pain in the ass. Rusty seized 40 year old bolts really suck. For the front I'm going to try cutting a coil off of the factory springs. Money is tight at the moment, so I'm hoping I can get away with just cutting the factory springs. If it doesn't work right, I'll have to break down and buy lowering springs for the front. As far as caster/camber. I'm only going to lower it about 2", so I shouldn't need a kit. BUT.. I'm having the upper a-arms custom shimmed by an alignment shop for optimum handleing. They will shim the upper A arm to make up for the caster change from lowering. So I don't have to worry about it anyway.
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.
Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.
My guy just lowered his acura 2 inches - bad deal...the low profiles tires on his 18s rub like you wouldn't believe. I felt bad for him and bought him the 1.25" springs and they are being installed today.
I didn't know you could buy springs in pairs...I thought all were sold in 4's.

Depending on where the wheels rub he might have gotten away with installing some wheel spacers.
Springs for my mustang are only sold in pairs. Mostly because they are different type of springs front and rear. The fronts are coil springs like your BF's acura uses, but in the rear they are leaf springs.
