Anyone here have their ears pierced? If so, with what? How old are you?

I had a silver hoop in each of my ears when I was in college, then took them out before coming to law school. Now that it's warming up, I really miss them. I'm 23, will be 24 in June, do you think I'm too old? I can only have them for another year if I do put them back in, since that's when I graduate and I don't think the firm would approve.

Oh, the reason I'm making such a big deal out of them is that my holes have closed, so I would have to get them re-pierced.

I have mine done and have for a long time no big deal you are 24 bro also a place cant fire you for wearing earrings! Otherwise they have to make the women take them off also! Discrimination! Just dont wear them to the interview!

50, take it from a fellow attorney, unless your going to be a pd or a con law ACLU attorney, big money firms are not going to appreciate the individuality. but hell, if you still dig it, fuck everyone else, your still in school- wear the dam thing. trust me, you'll have enough time in the future to worry about what some tight-ass partner might think about your clothes and everything else.

oh, and it is good to see a fellow jd (or soon to be jd) here on the board. good luck, and keep hitting the wieghts. i let myself get way out of shape during law school, and it was a ***** getting the pounds off and the muscle back up.

I'm actually in-house counsel with a tech company. I got out of the firm life a few years ago. My areas of concentration are trademark, copyright, and eCommerce. I wish we were looking, but we are not. I cannot imagine what the market is like right now. I thought it was bad when I was in school, and that was during the whole internet boom. I would look at an in-house position, as well as a position with a firm. I worked in-house at an insurance company during law school, and it was great. Not the same kind of money as clerking at a firm, but the work load and pace were MUCH better. The biggest thing is to network. I know you've heard it a thousand times, but it is true. Ask every friend, family member, and anyone you meet if they know any attorneys. Then call them and just ask for an informative meeting to ask some questions about what they do, how they got to where they are, that kind of stuff. You know attorneys love to hear themselves speak.

I know it probably isn’t anything you haven’t already heard, but I am telling you it is true. Good luck- something will come up, trust me.

Got both my ears pierced at 20, but wear only the left one right now. I'm going to get the right one pierced again, but I want platinum hoops instead of the silver hoop(s).
