My bosses brother-in-law runs a consulting firm out of his home. He has weekly meetings (on Friday mornings) with a group of people he networks with. He often calls to use our conference room on those mornings since he doesn't have one in his home.
Since I come in early, I normally will come unlock the conference room when he needs it at 7:15 am. Well, John (the brother in law) called to see if the conference room was open this Friday earlier this week, but said he would call to confirm if he needed it. Yesterday, a man from his group was here in our office for a meeting and said "Are we having the Networking meeting here tomorrow, because "John" called to ask if OUR conference room was free and I told him yes." I responded "Well, John hasn't called to confirm anything with me"
Well, this morning, my boss calls at 7:30 am (while I was blow drying my hair) so I returned his call at 8:00 am. He says "John cant get into the building - where are you?"
I am very conscious of my responsibilities and appointments and it absolutely nags me to death if I mess up. so I told my boss "John never called to confirm the meeting."
I rush into work and one of my coworkers let him in and there is an email in my inbox that was time stamped 4:55 pm (I left at 4:50 yesterday) that is from John saying "I just want to confirm use of the conference room tomorrow"
*uggggggggh* This is not the FIRST time this has happened. I am so pissed!
To top it all off, when he leaves, he will leave a mess in the conference room that I end up cleaning up, since I have early morning meetings in there
