Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that there was a 'national concensus' that thought executing a minor is 'cruel and unusual punishment'.
To support their decision they cited: Article 37 of the United Nations Convention and a international treaty (International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights). As if that is not enough they ignored the 19 states in America that allow for executions of minors.
So, essentially our supreme court is being governed by international law and mob rule but that's not really a shocker!
