most carribbean islands arent very good for what you want. but if you can catch a cruise to cancun that involves st thomas its worth it. if you go to st thomas , st croix or st john , let me know i sell to all of the hotels , taxi services, etc etc , casinos , yadda yadda.

st john , most beautiful beaches in the world imo. lots of nice lookin ladies, very unspoiled. no casino , kinda slow paced, but thats what i like. ive heard cuaraco was very nice also. or maybe even turksin cakos i think im spelling it wrong. it depends on what you like.

st john , hands down. st thomas is good too , you could go and see st john for a few hours , its a twenty minute trolly ride, and you can stay in your car. lots of food , drinks, whatever on each.
http://new.onepaper.com/stthomasvi/ should have some good local travel links.

I gotta disagree on this one.

British Virgin Islands kick ass all over the American Isles...

                    Check out Tortolla....OH MY GOD>>>>

St. John has like 120,000 people on the island...

Tortola has 10,000 on the same amount of land. Better beaches, WAY less poverty, and just a much more relaxed place.

I like the AVI's, but they don't even come close to BVI's for relaxation and such. Now if you want clubs, and lot's of single woman, than yeah, the AVI's are the way...

But I always go with my girl to just scuba/snorkel and lay around, so I like the slower pace...

dude you are confused. 80% of st john is national park. thier are more like 5000 people on st john. thier arent 120,000 people in the usvi all togethor. and yes i am an expert tortola is nice but thier crime is high.

Thanks for the info Pudgy, I really did think the pop was in the low 100,000s...

It does kind of seem that way though...especially when your hopping around from island to island down there...

Tortola was a welcome relief when I got there one year.

Not sure about the crime, but I can't think it would be any higher than the AVIs...but I don't have any hard facts on that, just from impressions from being there.

What are your thoughts on the AVIs? Which one would you choose for a nice quiet get-away???

I like tortola, and would love to spend more time on one of the AVI's...but they've always been so damn crowded.

st croix is harder to get to , but its nice. its bigger than the other three. st thomas is new york in the carribbean , st john is slow paced , and kinda lazy, water island is dead. st croix has a casino , and more history type sight seeing , good fishing and nice beaches. a lot less tourism in st croix , therefor you will have to plan harder to see everything worth seeing. good golf on st thomas or st croix if your into that crap. st thomas has a golds. st thomas has the cheapest jewelry in the world. no taxes , its also a duty free port like the most of the carribbean. lots of shopping in st thomas. it just depends on what you like. and yes they drive on the left side of the road.

Sounds like I need to check out St. Croix....

big, less rourism, hard to get to, good fishing and beaches.....

                              Exactly what I'm looking for...

Thanks bro, this may be the new summer plan now...
