I've had one hell of a week. It started off with the damn flu and I'm still feeling the effects from it, just no more fever then the shit really hits the fan!!! Thursday after noon, after a few days of the usual mindless irritations that I get from the ex, she comes up missing. She's called her mother and her aunt a couple of times saying only that she doesn't know where she is and she'll be back as soon as she can or may not be back at all. Both of our girls have been sick the oldest one has had the flu, the baby just the sniffles and she hasn't even asked about them. How the hell can someone be that fucked up?? I've known for a while now that she has some serious mental issues that she won't do anything about but I just don't get it. How does someone just up and leave their kids. I was only going for joint custody but she's left me with no other choice but to go full custody. How the hell do you tell you kids that their mother just bailed and doesnt' know if she's coming back or not? What a worthless piece of shit!

If your ex really needs mental help - it may be in your best interest (and the interest of your kids) to look into getting her profession help once she resurfaces. Once she is well, she will thank you.
Also - KUDOS TO YOU - thanks for showing us that all dad's aren't DEADBEAT! You are one of three men I know and respect who is raising his kids alone. My hat is off to you, sir.

Thanks, my kids are my life. I love my girls more than anything and that's why this kind of shit pisses me off so bad.

Re: Rough week
Kite, one of the guys I know was almost in the same situation - here is a quick run down.
he gets married, and they have three babies. Then his wife starts using crack, heroin, etc - she begins sleeping with another guy and gets pregnant by him. My friend raises the kid as his own and then it happens again. SHe is pregnant with a kid from the OTHER man - so she moves out and lives with this new guy. My friend gets full custody, order for child support, and a P.I. to document dirt on his ex in case she ever tries to take his kids. The OTHER guy loses his job and so he, my friend's now ex wife, and their daughter are out on the street - so my friend lets them ALL move into his house until the OTHER guy gets back on his feet.
Now (12 years later) everything is "drama free" ~ my friend has the biggest heart in the world, but no one was going to screw with his kids.
Like him, you have their best interest at heart. Keep it that way. They don't need to know about all of their mom's faults from you, they will figure it out on their own. So just be the greatest dad in the world and they will forever love you for it.
