I just got fucked over hardcore....Listen to this bullshit: A few weeks I got busted for pot that wasn't mine. Im minding my own business studying for a test on a sunday night, the cops came to my door and let themselves in and found it so right to search around my apartment. They found some pot dont know whos it was perhaps my roommates, perhaps a friends-who knows?

Anyways after dealing with all that bullshit, my roommate who is 22 tells his parents i got arrested. His parents tell my apartment complex. Evidentally in the lease i signed that if i were to get arrested i would breach the lease and be asked to leave. They asked me to leave, tried to fight it via my lawyer, went through alot more bullshit. They told me if i didn't leave, they would evict me, so i had no choice. Then i have to pay out the rest of the lease. So listen to how much this little mishap cost me:

Bail: $1000---supposedly i get this back

Lawyer fee: $1500(got me a pretrial diversion---comm service and drug offenders class)

Drug Offenders Class: $100

Paraphenalia ticket: $250

I was told the wrong date to pay the fine by and missed it by a day---$200 fine for failure to appear

The rest of my lease at old apartment: $6000 for 6 months

New apartment lease for 3 months until schools out: $3200

And the grand total is: $12250 this fucking sucks... Now to add to it my parents are pissed at me. It hasn't been a good 2003 so far.Hopefully i'll make it to 220lbs soon to cheer me up

Sorry to hear that bro. I know some people dont have the balls to take the blame, so they blame it on others. Thats when you find out who your real friends are man. Ive had that before but I never went through that much man. Sorry to hear that amigo.

I mean it wouldn't have been as bad if i didn't get kicked out of my apartment.

My lawyer went back and forth with them for a week and they wouldn't budge. And people in their office started spreading shit about me and we threatened to sue them for not keeping my confidential info. They didn't care. They said fine we'll see you in court. Then my parents tried to work a deal with them and they got more pissed... To top it off they gave me 24hrs to get my shit and leave.

Yeah technically they do need a search warrant. The same cops are always casing the complex and have had problems with my roommates, so they had been over before and probably saw shit.

But as we all know, some cops make up reasons for probable cause. In the police report they said they smelled marijuana outside. They also said that i gave them permission to come in.

Of course they lied, what else were they gonna do?

damn bro sorry to hear that shit, but if they bursted in wit out concent than its a technicality i got out of a few years in jail cuz of our geniuos' in blue .. i think ur lawyer coudl have done a lot more to help u out too

i could have fought it but it wasnt worth the time. I did 20hrs of service and took that class and it was dismissed no big deal

not much you can do when cops lie... In court, its my word against theirs

Sounds like you need a new lawyer and now.

If you get them to drop it which they should if everything you have said is accurate then all the rest goes away. You apt cannot evict you (maybe on grounds of having illegal substance but if you were not illegaly searched then did you ever have it? probably so but I dont know the law well enough.)

You will be out the lawyer fees though.

Oh and no matter what is is not helpful to have that on your record.
