Man, that's a problem. Kim Jung Il is a crazy son a *****. It's not that easy just to send US troops over there and wipe them out. We're already spread way to thin. This is something we REALLY need to rely on the UN to step in and take control. If anything, South Korea is going to need to step up the plate here. The North Koreans are in no way like the Afghani's or the Iraqi's. It's already been noted that the North Koreans will fight to the death. Every last one of them. I see nothing good coming out of this. The North Koreans have, and WILL more than likely use Nukes if attacked. And No one wants WW3.

aom nailed this one, baaaad news!! i would'nt suprise me if this flake nuked, or at least bombed japan if we attacked them. i think he would drag any and all in the region into a war if he had the chance. unfort. i have little faith that the un can or will step up there pressure, and s korea is in no way ready to jack with this goof. he would most certainly bomb them. this is a case of black main by a rouge state, that i dont see any possitive outcome from.

china has no controll of n/k, they just been proping up goofy's regime with $. every time that mutt wants more, he holds the human race hostage. it would take a concentrated effort of ALL free society to punk that goof, but the problem is WE (free society) cant get our own wants, greed and ego's out of the way long enough to put forth that effort.

Guys, guys, guys, you are missing the BIG picture here. Sure, N Korea is crazy but there is no phukin way China is going to let those guys launch anything. Think about it. The nuclear fallout would affect the whole area. China, and Japan, will not sit by and let that happen. Japan is the wealthiest nation in the world and everyone would suffer if they were attacked heavily. Sure, the US has the most power, but make no mistake, Japan has the money.

I agree, the UN needs to step in and they need to do it soon. I honestly feel N Korea will attack S Korea first. And while doing so they will threaten the launch of Nukes on Japan if anyone tries to stop them. It will be a good chess match, that's for sure.

What would you do; let S Korea fall or have Japan nuked? Tough qestion but that's where I think this is headed.

I personally, would get my self in good relations with China and let them fight this one. There is nothing we can really do here. Those people don't like the US either. But China is a country that demands respect and they could wipe out N Korea in a blink of an eye. Even the US would not be stupid enough to go toe to toe with China. You can't beat a country who has over one million people in their military.

For some reason i get feeling China will not stepup to the plate. IMO, U.S. is spending way too much in Iraq, and the ppl don't even care that much about us, lol! It is not our responsibility to help out every country that is in need, and we just can not afford to do it. We need to buildup or troops and firepower and worry more about NK. I heard they already have the capability of hitting Cali with a nuke and have much more nukes, missiles, and troops then us. My worry is one day NK and possibly another country will band together and take over the U.S. Asian could be one of thoses countries. Right now, they could do alot of damage, because we have all those troops over there. Just think...what it would be like if something like that ever happened. It is not unlikely.

China is dropping to be one of the poorest countries. An all out war would set their country back 100 years. China wants nothing to do with a war. It's all on the UN at this point. If George Bush went on an all out offensive, Iran would be salivating at the chance to build more nukes. We would be scrwed all around. No ifs ands or buts, the UN must disarm this situation. Looks like Kofi Anon is going to earn his paycheck on this one.

If it came down to nukes crossing the ocean then it's all over for mankind. Every country in Asia would suffer from the fallout because the ocean breeze would sweep it across the entire continent. Russia, India, and China would all suffer. There is now way they would sit be. N Korea would be a parking lot in less than 24 hours.

i agree with mick on the point that china aint doing d*ck, but i dont think there is the time needed to pull back (if that is what you were saying mick) from iraq and start a build up. the whole world watched as our biggest allies, with the ecception of briton, turned there backs on us ( right or wrong as we were, thats what the world seen) with our current mission in iraq. so, no fear. n/k has no fear- we, even i say he's a nut, but looking at it from his point, what is the only logical outcome...i dont think any country will openly band with him, that would cost them to much needed revanue from the world market....no, this will be settled with ca$h. $$$$$$$ that's what it's all about. that's the way we delt with him for years, that's the way it goes this time...watch and see.

Come on T-Man, I know you better than that. The UN would NOT sanction anyone to use nukes. And if you use Nukes without UN sanctions, you'll be the one getting bombed. Using nukes to knock out another country with nukes is a bully game of chess.
So far, the war in Iraq cost us over $150 billion dollars. No other country could sustain that cost. An average short assisted war would cost China probaly $20 billion. They couldn't handle that. The US would give money, but the country would still be financially devistated.
