they can, but its hard for them. i have 2 african desert spurred tortoises just like the ones in the video. ive had them since they were the size of 50 cent pieces. now they are 14 years old and as big or bigger than your steering wheel on your car. the problem when they flip on their backs is that their intestines end up laying on their lungs and it can suffocate them. they have extremely long neck to help flip them back over but when they get really old and big theit body is too heavy for them to flip.
mine do the exact same thing as the 2 in the video!!
