Can you imagine what that deer is thinking. Oh shit what do I do, just keep pisssing, he might not see me! Or run? Needless to say I almost stepped on 4 or 5 deer, we where at Cades Cove for Christmas. I walked up to a 10 point. How crazy is that. I believe byron has them calmed down alot...

WHEN I WAS 16 I HAD A 30 30 OR A 30 SOMETHING 6 RIFLE I WAS IN KANSAS AND THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME DEAR HUNTING.SITTING IN THIS PHUCKING TREE FOR HOURS ALL OF A SUDDEN THIS BUCK WITH A HUGE RACK JUST CASUALY WALKS MY WAY,I SAY TO MYSELF I GOT YOU PHUCKER HE GETS CLOSER BAM RIGHT ABOVE THE LEG NAILED THAT DEER IN ITS HEART FIRST SHOT.BUCK WENT DOWN SO WHAT DO I DO ,NOW I'M STILL IN THE TREE I SHOOT THE DEER 3 MORE TIMES,LOL I DIDNT KNOW. ANY WAY MY HILLBILLY FRIEND GUT IT AND HE ATE THE DEER MEAT.THAT DEER MEAT TASTE LIKE DAY OLD PU--Y,EXSCUSE MY FRENCH.I'LL STICK WITH GOOD OLD BULL OR COW MEAT

Well if deer is done correctly, it is great. I killed 2 this year, 1 bow hunting, and 1 with my 30-6. Neither deer ran, they dropped where I shot them, and it was good shots, both to the heart. If the deer doesn't run, and it is not old or in rut like your deer probably was, then it will turn out good. Also getting all the blood out of it quick is better. I have mine processed. Cut into steaks, roast and ground up. Very lean meat. I also make jerky out of some of it.

man, nothing better than smoked venison. my redneck boy's down in fla would take venison, bore, and gator..soak it in ice water and salt for 24hrs to pull the adrenilan out of the meet, then we would smoke it and CHOW DOWN. every sat. at the dealership i worked at in labelle.
