what i pod do you have? Mines pretty easy to deal with, i tunes takes a while to get used too but its good stuff.

I have yet to figure out how to organize the main library but if you want a "gym" file, just make a new playlist and drag and drop thesongs you want into it...in the order you want to listen to them. I dont think there is a way to organize through the i pod itself, its all done through i tunes. At least i haven't found a way to do it yet.

I stummbled upon the things i learned ( for the most part) and am still figuring it out, they do so much its unreal...

    Good luck man.

yeah that is what i mean.... i do everything through the itunes. i wanted to share mine with my wife, but or taste in music is quite different.

i figure ill just make a playlist of gym songs for myself, but then all my music would be in the main library and she would have to sort through it as well.

you can create folders in the library under file>addfolder and organize your music how ever you want, but i dont really know how necessary this is, since the ipod will play by artist or genre anyway.

any idea how to check and uncheck all ?

In iTunes go into Edit, Select All to check them all. Edit, Select None unchecks them.

I have mine organized by playlists, and have multiple lists for the gym. For example, I have a Workout - Classic Rock and a Workout - Angry (hmmm..guess what kind of music that might be). I even have a Cardio playlist (gag!) for times like now when I need to burn off some of this extra holiday lard! LOL!

If you want a playlist by artist, then just sort your library by artist name and drag them into a playlist.

If you share with your wife then yeah, it's all in the library, but you could each make playlists specific to what you like. You can listen to them or just listen to the whole library for a change of pace.

(Nate - to organize the main library, the best you can do is click on the titles across the top to sort it by artist, genre, or whatever.)
