i watch a lot of c-span and headline news and news in general, in fact i may have a mild dependancy on it. anyway, i was just wondering why thier are so many smart people in the world and not one single friggin one of them is running a country. we have some very mediocre politicans in this world and even some very stupid ones.

because the smart ones are smart enough to stay away from politics. they intelligent, level headed people are above politics. as well, most of them wont kiss ass, as politics must do in order to get were they are. They intelligent ones are more concerned with educating themselves, and others, rather than trying to make a name for themselves

I will play devil's advocate here...remember they themselves are intelligent as well...if running a country was easy then we'd all be on Mt. Rushmore. Intelligence I think runs far deeper then numbers, and memory...we all have a certain aspect of intelligence with certain things...and I certainly wouldn't want to see some of the professors I've delt with try to run a country let alone a beaker.

OoOOooo...check out the big brain on pudge! I'm so glad that you can trod along with the rest of the herd. Do you like salt and pepper on your propoganda, or are you too old for that spicy stuff? Does it upset your tummy? Wanker!

          LOL
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.

i agree with you. i never thought of it, but a man such as our president has a cabinet/advisors or do most of the work for him. He though, must sift through the details, take others opinions, and make a decision which may not be popular, but is a must. A good leader must make his decision on facts, eliminating any bias and emotion he may contain

It's obvious that Dubya has no bias toward this whole Iraq fiasco. I'm sure the guy also lacks a sense that his destiny somehow involves starting a third WW. He should go tuck himself back under dad's wing and put the silver foot back in his mouth. :p
