Need Advice on Ebay/Paypal Issue

My damn wife has been burning up Ebay buying christmas stuff and ordered something for my Jeep from a dude in San Fran. She hasn't heard anything from him since she paid Paypal for the stuff and he will not return emails. Transaction is still pending as of 11:20PM. Called credit card company and they can't do anything until its out of pending status and becomes a transaction then she can dispute the charges. Any ideas as to what we should do????

my buddy got ripped off buying statellite cards but got his money back in the end

the credit card company won;t be albe to help till your card is charge I believe so has it been charged?

also does the sellar have paypal insurance I forget the correct term. then u can call paypal

how it worked for my buddy is the guy couldn't offer any proof he ever sent out anytihng to my friend ie a tracknig number. so he got his money back, there is also some kind of waiting period once the transaction takes place like a few weeks before the credit card company can act on it.

maybe u should try saying someone must have hacked your paypal/ebay account might get the charge reversed faster

I'm gonna go against that one. If he does try to scam you, you will get your money back. Paypal/Ebay are very good about that, it just might take a little while.

This is so f@#$@#$ up!!! Paypal says that they can't do anything until the guy picks up the money. So my wife goes back and checks the acct. and it says transaction complete, meaning that he has claimed the money but the sumb@#$ will not return any emails even from different addy's. Now she's at home crying on the couch.....boy this is gonna be a good day!!!!!

Sounds like your wife got burned by this guy, if he's a regular to ebay and has an ongoing buisness happening and never delivered your product then you are well within your rights to report him to ebay, that'll be the end of his fraudulent tendanceys ebay will ban him from further transactions. As for getting your money back I believe that paypall has some kind of insurance for merchandice not delivered. I as well have used ebay and paypall but never had any problems.

Thanks, I've never had any problems either. This was my wife's first time and she was doing it without me knowing, she didn't realize the the sellers had ratings and she tried to purchase something really big from a guy that had 0 sales and 0 feedback....probably a burn.

I think in the end you'll probably get your cash back, unless you haven't lossed it yet, and of course it'll be a lesson learned for your wife, but after all she was just thinking of you, she must love you!

She does love me! But the guy already collected the funds from paypal, now paypal is saying that she can dispute it with ebay and so its a back and forth thing between ebay and paypal.

Its ok guys. I contacted some friends of mine from way back and I now have the guys IP,phone number,home address, and real name. Everything should be all good now, not to mention all the other items he has on ebay just got mysterious bids in really large sums of money
