i love deer if its cooked right otherwise its a too gamey...o2 i worked at a gun range when i was 11-16 years old.....i love shootin trap or skeet but hunting is not for me.....can't kill em but i'll eat the hell out em.....i'm a big fishermanComment

I RESIDE IN THE GREAT NORTHWOODS AND OPENING DAY WAS THE 15th, DIDN'T MAKE IT OUT, BUSY AS HELL AT WORK, LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING OUT ALL WEEKEND AN THEN FOR FOUR DAYS DURING THANKSGIVING I GOT BUCK FEVER LIKE THE MAD MAN I AM. HUNTING DOWN IN A SWAMP THIS WEEKEND WITH A .44 MAGNUM. It's all about what feeding area the deer have. Ussually down south the deer taste gamey, northern MN the same way, But if your in Southern MN, IO, NE, MO. The states that grow alot of soybeans and Corn the Deer tastes just like corn fed beef, I actually prefer deer over beef around here, plus it's free, Awesome protein, lower in cholesterol than most beef and much leaner.Originally posted by edvedr

I used to be a big mule deer, and elk hunter.I Really had a change of heart, and not into killing things anymore..kind of wierd.
To me once you find the animal the hunt is over......Shooting them is not a challenge. Finding them is. I would just as soon make my stalk, and video them as pull the trigger. Oh, did i mention I hate venison!SUPERMOD@ LORDSOFIRON.COM (invite only)

I LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS. I ONCE TRACKED A DEER FOR 3 DAYS, THROUGH FEILDS, THICK WOODS, UP HILLS, DOWN HILLS THEN WE (ME AND THE DEER) FINALLY ENDED UP IN SWAMP OHH AND NOT TO MENTION IT WAS ABOUT 10 DEGREES AT THE WARMEST. WHEN I FINALLY GOT THAT MF IN MY SIGHTS POW DROPPED HIM AT 75 YARDS W/ A HEAD SHOT. ALL THE GRUELLING MILES I WALKED, CALORIES BURNED AND FRUSTRATION HE CAUSED ME IT WAS A REWARD TO BAG HIM. NOT TO MENTION I HAD ALOT OF PROTIEN TO PUT BACK IN MY BODY AFTER THE CHASE SO I WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO EAT THAT ONE. whitetail fanatic here. shot this badboy on the 11th at 8yards. deer were really moving probably because the snow you see was coming in.
I just ate a lb of venison and rice
damn this was a good season. oh yeah the deer dressed at 210lbs!! bet you boys down south dont see that too often.Comment
