  • why vote???

Ive said that I dont usually get angry when Im on here, but I must admit that I am a little torqued tonight as I write this.

My state (louisiana) passed a constitutional amendment in a special vote 75% to 25% last month that wouldve amended the constitution to define marriage between 1 man and 1 woman. As I suspected, an apparently liberal judge in baton rouge overturned this vote, essentially throwing it out by saying the amendment was unconstitutional and "too broad" in its writing. Now, why did the citizens of my state go to all the trouble of voting if all that had to happen was ask this 1 person his opinion? I mean, why vote if the voices of nearly 1.5 million people can be overshadowed by 1 robed jerk sitting in a high back leather chair in some baton rouge courthouse? why not just ask him if we can do this and save us all the trouble??? of course, Im being facetious in saying why vote, but I mean, its ridiculous. And I thought louisiana was better than that.....

That's screwed up bro. My gf is from Baton Rouge; I'm sure she will be pissed too.

So much for living in a domocracy! What the hell happened to the people's voice? When did the minority get to make policy? And people wonder why "liberal" has gotten such a bad name.

That same issue is on the Georgia ballot.

Judges are just one step above a lawyer and thats just two steps above a snake!
