What happened to Scot Mendelson? He was supposed to come out of retirement and put up 1005lbs. I read it in this article a few months ago. In the article he said "right now 1005 lbs is really light for me." Did anybody else hear about this?
Scot has claimed to have done over 1000 several times in the gym and as awesome as that sounds, gym lifts don't count, it's all about what you do on the platform. He's said several times that he's a basket case on meet day, for some reason he just falls apart when he knows it's all on the line.
I agree, benchshirts don't give you any more of an advantage than aas - especially since everyone is using them.
you don't see guys playing football without pads just like you don't see a powerlifter benching without a shirt.
These guys train harder than many people in the gym and LIVE on reaching PR's
GP - maybe you should take the video camera outta your bedroom and set it up in the gym next time you attempt that much weight! Did you ever know that you're my hero? you are the wind beneath my wings....
