That's a sticky one. But, time will heal it. I'm with you though, if she doesn't ask it's not lying. Now, if the topic of money can up and you avoided telling her about the checks then that's a little different. All and all I think this is a small thing. Of course, there is this flipside, if she doesn't care you get gear and the money, or checks, was part of what you "budgeted" for gear then the money really wasn't extra money. If you were gonna get it and this is what you put aside for it then you didn't lie about anything. IMO

PS - dont try to rationalize that one with her, it'll only get you in more trouble.

She's mad alright, but I don't think I won. The money wasn't set aside for the purpose of gear. So she's just like if at the end of the month after bills have been paid and money put into savings if there is extra you can use that to get gear. Well that is never gonna happen. She'll just put more into savings and say there ain't no money for stuff we don't NEED! Her famous Catch 22! So I figured since she wasn't expecting for me to get any money and didn't know I did, what would it hurt!
