    Re: Shoulder problems

Yes, and it sucks. I have, for the most part, been injury free for 17+ years and now I have this right shoulder problem. I can't do DB presses right now becasue of the pain. If I do my therapy on a regular basis I'm good, but if I slack off it will start hurting again. The therapy is designed to hit all the rotators of the shoulder joint. Because they are much weaker than the delts it is very important for guys like me and you to do it regularly. It's just something we have to do from now on.

Did you tear something or just strain it?
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

Ouch, your situation is much worse than mine I think. Mine is just a strain but it injures easily when I don't do my therapy. Have you seen a physical therapist lately?

I'd try ART and shoulder traction. I had an rc tear, a bone spur and a detatched collar bone, but as long as I ice after each workout, listen to my body and do shoulder traction once or twice a week it doesn't bother me at all.

bro i tore my superspanadis, had bursitis, bad impinjment and a bone spur. had it scoped, and after 4 months of rehab its all good, i healed 100%. do the thera band and ice bro and dont press anything over your head heavy. get it looked at again. this was in 02 and i have been swimming on it for the last 2 years with no problems and i lift heavy, u cant rush injuries bro, once step in front of the other.

Are you familiar with the Jump Stretch Bands? If so take the monster minis or the average strength bands, loop them around your wrist in a way that you don't have to hold them (like you's choke them on the bottom of a power rack) and the other end around a bar that's secured or around a door knob. Then you pull back a little, just enought to feel tension and completely relax your arm and allow it to be pulled by the bands. Hold this position for approx 20 seconds. I do it to the front and to the back. It gives you a good stretch in both directions and helps to open up that joint a little. Hope this helps, it's done wonders for me.
