    Re: Right vs Wrong

How about abortion due to a health risk in a woman? I know of some women that would die rather than have their unborn child die so their life can be spared.

        Re: Right vs Wrong

So you think a woman that has a life or death health risk should give her life for the unborn child? What if she has family members and other children that depend on her?

In the face of a decision like that, she'd have to chose the lesser of the two evils, and the baby would have to go home.

but like he said, other children could be depending on that mother. so saving the unborns life could be ruining the lives of those kids that are alive

By "home", I wasn't refering to the tangible one.

I guess what i was trying to infer in this hypothetical scenario is that whatever the outcome, the decision made by the mother would result in the taking of a life.

                      Genesis 9:6
                      "Whoever sheds man's blood,
By man his blood shall be shed,
For in the image of God
                      He Made man."
God said this to Noah after the flood. Pretty interesting don't you think? The Bible clearly gives the right and wrong to murder and killing. It is wrong to murder and it is just to kill those that murder. Straight from God. I don't see the grey area here.

Hmmm, thanks for the scripture...I need to go back and read some more on this before I comment.

PL456 - Do you consider the death penalty to be murder as it is obviously not "self defense"?

Most Christians would believe that the death penalty is murder. The act of starting up the lethal injection pumps is just the same as if one were to kill someone with a weapon. Some would say because another person killed, doesnt give someone else the right to do likewise, as they would not be killing for self defense. Some Christians don't even believe that killing someone in self defense is right.

                            Mick,

You need to read my Bible quote above. Its actually most liberals who believe that a life for a life is not right. The Bible says, well actually, God said to Noah (to be specific) that if a mans blood is shed, then by man his blood will be shed as well. I don't know any authentic Christians who don't believe in the death penalty personally. But then, I'm originally from the south were we like to take out our own trash and dispose of it properly.

I don't know bro?? Its alway the Christians that fight the death penality when it comes up in an election. I have read your quote and it is one thing to take quotes from the Bible and determine what is said, but alot of ppl's actions are opposite from what is written.

                                Touche!

That is the very problem at the heart of Christianity, people's actions are the opposite of what is written. I know no one is perfect. But man, some of the self righteous people sure could do a lot better than they do. Heck, I could surely do a lot better than I do. But you are right, a lot of people take the Bible and change the scripture to fit them instead of changing themselves to fit scripture. That's mankind for ya.

                                Later.
