I am having a hard time finding a Weight Lifting Belt for a man of my girth. Any suggestions?

I would really question the need for a belt for you at this time. Your a big man, still holding a lot of BF and relitively new to weights. Lifting without a belt will ensure you buld a strong core and stabilizer muscles.

A few years down the road when your a svelt powerlifter, working on your 1 rep max buy one......by then the belt you bought today will wrap around your waist 2-3 times.

          Good luck

Wow, 600# standing calf raises !!!! I guess I shouldn't be suprised I've got a buddy that probably has got a 55" waist or so and he pushes some awesome weight with his legs (very weak upper body though).

I am going to differ your question to others, I'm not really sure what you should do in this case.

Sorry pal, I'd rather give no answer then a bogus one.

              Good Luck,

There you go, your upper body is weak. I would recomend not using a belt and let your upper body catch up. start a regular ab routine to help strengthen your core strength. It will strengthen your lower back as well. CONCETRATE ON YOUR FORM!!! If you have to go out of form, drop some weight.

Concur...tighten those abs up..also, dont forget to stretch your hamstrings.. Hamstring shortening is the #2 cause of low back pain. If you stretch, you will no doubt see relief, if youre otherwise OK, low back wise. For belts, Inzer Advanced Designs has the best, IMO.

Getting that core built up won't be something that happens overnight......and hopefully by then you'll be a 5X (or less)

One more thing, on those standing calves, squats, DL you may want to stay away from the low rep routines for now if that's what your doing.

On a side note: Youve got the greatest avatars.......are you a graphic artist or something? Nice work.

My Nutritonist has me doing 3 sets of 15-20 reps...as far as the avatars i have about 40 different ones. I just goolge for them and then i have a site that will resize them. I belong to like 5 boards and everone demands a different avatar size

Thats one thing that has always bothered me. I have always wanted the big biceps and the six pack plus the hulking chest but no i get the strong and large Calfes and thighs. Not really something that impresses the ladies
