you can always start with AFPA and get your training going to make some money. ISSA is good but is more involved with seminars to attend. AFPA is nationally recognized and will help you get off the ground alot quicker.Plus if you dont like it you're not out nearly as much money or time devoted to it. You can always obtain a "better" cetification to build crudential.
I Started with AFPA then went to ACE and considered some others but in all actuallity most people dont even ask if you are certified and if they do they have no idea what ISSA or ACE or AFPA is, more times than not they just dont care. results is what they are after...PERIOD... word of mouth and recomandations is where your clientel base will come from ( for the most part)
I strongly suggest going a fatster/ cheaper certification route. there is no end to learning, get your feet wet before you jump all the way in bro.
take a look at AFTA i just finished it actually(real easy)..its not a real known one but around me most gyms dont care what cert. u have as long as you have something on paper..I'm sure it's good enough if your going for part time work
actually Bally pays nicely. there are benefits to bally because they do all of the marketing for you. what you give up is a lot of the freedoms you would have working independantly.
I think Bally's is a good place to learn how to sell and learn the foundations of PT. I hate Bally and there management structure, but my boss taught me a lot. i haven't worked there in over 1.5 years
as far as certifications go, choose the cheapest. the only one that has any real merit is CSCS. the rest will take your money, give you a test, and print out a certificate, you will have to learn all on your on.
Unless you are going to work for a place that requires a specific cert, i would make your own certificate at the local print shop and get a real CPR certification.
remember that a certification is not a license, and anyone can certify you to do anything, a license comes from the state
i am issa certified
