I heard the Latino community was in a uproar over it because is portays Latinos in a negative light. One of the Latino rights groups is all against it, saying that people might lash out at Latinos more because of the things they see on the show.

Thats horse shit...I'm Canadian, I wouldnt care if they made a mini-series about a bunch of hick igloo dwelling, touque wearing, snowmobile driving Canadian drug smugglers...I think that would be kinda cool...those latino rights groups need to lighten up.
