  • I came to 2 conclusions today, Iraq is hell and looks rule the world

It is sad to say but I honestly think Saddam was Iraq's best option as well as the US troops. Those people need someone to rule with an Iron fist and they need to live in fear. Freedom for Americans is the ability to make once own decisions and the ability to speak your mind, but Iraqis view freedom as the freedom to pick up a gun and shoot anyone that doesnt believe in their own politics. That country is seriously FUCKED UP. I know that dickhead ruled just like ******, but thats what those people need and after the Gulf war he knew better that to try and invade anything or anywhere, and with no WMD he was no significant threat to any countries. Bush seriously has fucked up straying away from the war or terrorism

Oh yeah and that average Joe is a dumb ass, that girl he chose is going to ring him dry.

i agree too... it's just like the former yugoslavia... Tito ruled it for over 50 years and everything was nice (considering there is a shitload different religions - reason why the war in '92 was started)... they went through 2 world wars, fought off germans, italians etc... there was some kind of unity there... as soon as Tito died in '80 hell broke loose... they all did what the fuk they wanted (they got their 'freedom') and plans for taking over/wars etc were started... a war in '92 that lasted for few years was the result... thousands killed, and shit still hasn't changed today... same as it was before too... but before there was no violence cuz Tito didn't let them.....

similar thing happened in iraq too..... saddam kept everyone quiet and under pressure (fear of being killed etc)... noone dared to do anything stupid... he had to do a lot of killings etc (mostly people of a different race that were living in iraq) but there was some kind of peace...
now that he's gone, iraquies have gone nuts... all of them... they 'got their freedom'... they r doing whatever they want...
i believe unless there is one person there to tell them to shut the fuk up or else there is going to be beating, they r just going to continue to govern themselves, get separated into little groups of people, which will then result in wars and more violence... it might even spread into neighbouring countries...
sadam was maybe the wrong person with fuked up ideals, but they definetelly need someone like him again to keep that country under control... i don't think democracy belongs there yet... they r not ready for it yet

I disagree...although you make a valid point about the guns and stuff....They deserve the same freedom we have over here, nothing more or less.

why does every American expect Iraq to be a functioning democracy in three days?? it took America years to create a constitution, much less make it work. there were british sympathizers creating chaos everywhere.

for someone to say that a "people" just needs to live in fear, in simply racist, and it implies that they are too ignorant to sustain themselves in a democracy.

if theres anything that history has shown us about good government, its that it takes time. these people have not lived under free rule since....they never have!! two thousand years of tyrannical rule. democracy is the answer, but it will take time.

Your right...this country was founded on God and we are very far away from where we once were.

Like my friend said this weekend when we went up to Bastrop, people adapt. So you know eventually they're gonna adapt to democracy
