I can tell you that I would have triplets over another kidney stone!! There are 2 types of stones that you can develop.. One is from too much calcium in your system that is not being absorbed and remains and forms into a "stone" and the other is caused by large doses of Vit. C and/or caffeine. I was told this in the hospital. I always try to drink water after coffee etc..
Hope you feel better soon!! Keep drinking lots of distilled water..Forever!

You all are amatures!! I have had 9 kidney stones since the age of 16 and I am now 21.....I have chronic kidney stones and I get them every few months or so....it is not a pleasant experience. But it's kinda funny now....I know when they are coming - and I have gotten to the point where they know me in the ER - pretty sad haha! IVP anyone? Those are such a blast....um....no just kidding. Anyway.....I feel your pain bro - but just think.....it could be worse!!! The nurses have told me one thing though - giving birth will be a peice of cake for me!!! yay for that?!GO GATORS!!!

oh and by the way....if you ever have to have surgery to get it to pass.....GET LYTHOTRIPSY!!!!! getting a stent put in is crazy....my body rejected the stent and landed me in the hospital for a week......so make sure you ask if lythotripsy is an option.....it is surgery - but it is an underwater procedure where they blast the stone.....it still KILLS when it is passing - but nothing like the pain of your body rejecting a foreign object!! hope this helpslet me know if you all have ANY questions about kidney stones....i'm quite the expert patient

newone....have you tried straining your urine?? and if you have....how long have you been doing it?? unless the stones are super small....you should be able to catch the stone...unless you aren't consistent with it? it all depends....I have caught some and not caught others.....it all depends on your consistency with the strainer. also.....about the getting a new doc? all they can do for me is give me pain meds......they have actually had to call my mom because they were so worried that I was highly tolerant to pain meds.....but it's really all they can give you - and you have to be stern with the ER nurses - they need to know that you have been on numerous pain meds for your kidneys and if what they are giving you does not work.....just to give you more - they should be able to make you comfortable.....it's just that time in between that sucks!!!! anyway.....i'm sure your doc is doing all he/she can -- it is just something that is almost untreatable.....your diet and diuretics is the only thing that can remotely control themGO GATORS!!!
