Daily Verse 3/30/04

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

just to explain the meaning of these verses a little....

it is saying that if we live in the will of God....then He will provide our needs and desires(v.7).....

also in v.5 it is saying that if God is at the center of our lives, He will be shown through in our character....by saying the fruits, that is meaning love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control (Galations 5:22,23).....I don't know about y'all but that seems like a great set of character traits....

in v.6 it is saying that if you are not living in the will of God....it will be harder for you to cast off the temptations of the world and soon you will be consumed by them and lost in the shuffle of the mess that satan has set out to accomplish....

so....hope this puts some light on the meaning behind those verses
