please let me know if im breakin board rules but i dont think i am since im not promoting the use of rec drugs but wish to know the detection time of meth.

so it seems that my gf lil 13year old sister has been smoking meth. my girl read her diary and found out that she has done this several times within this last month. we want to confront her and have her tested. more than likely shell denie it and say she never did but were still gonna have her tested. do u guys know whats the detection time of this drug? i would appreciate the help and some advice on how to handle this situation. thanks

THIRTEEN?? wow....I would take away the freedom....I know it sounds harsh but she is a child and shouldn't have that choice....I don't know much about parenting but I do know first hand the dangers with drug use and that is young to start and it will only get worse....

I would definitely let your girlfriend know that it's o.k. for her sister to hate her for a while....when she is an adult she will thank you.....you should try to find out why she is so unhappy and why she feels that she needs to look for happiness in an altered state of mind.....At thirteen she should be worried about who kissed who....not where to get her next hit.....

It's a really scary thing but if asking who, what, where, when, why is not enough....put her in rehab or hire a babysitter if she has too much time on her hands by herself.....try and get to know the families of her friends so if she says she is going to someone's house....you know exactly where she is going and the environment in which she will be exposed to.....

*****Spend a lot of quality time with her so she knows what good clean fun feels like and that it is possible to have fun without doing drugs and have her friends tag along......******

I was out of control in high school and I never had anyone to discipline me because my mom was afraid I would fly off the handle at her - by that happening....it gave me more power - so take away her power, take away her privacy, and take away take away take away until she gets the fact that she is not making her own decisions until she proves she can handle that respondsibly.....

Trust me....she is NOT going to be happy - but I can tell you I wish someone would have cared like that with me instead of just taking the mindset that I am going to do what I want reguardless of what others say......

Do it with love and good luck - let me know if I can help - I am only a senior in college but I have lived a lifetime of experience and know what it is like to be clean and wish I had never known that side of society....

(another thing that might help is have her talk with someone that has been there and done that - experience carries a lot of weight with someone who thinks they know all and "you don't understand" type thing)

thanks guys i appreciate the help. thats awsome advice JaclynLloyd. yea were gonna take her out of volleyball and monitor her calls a lil more. we think its a boy in her school who has some play in this. for sure her freedom is gone for a good while and its gonna be hard. surely she gonna hate me and my gf for a long time buts thats ok. we are planing on buyin a home drug test tonight and gettin her tested asap.

Meth is bad. Often it turns to IV usage.
Also one of the most difficult drugs to kick once its been used awhile.
Goodluck bro and make close note of who her friends are. Some will be to the point were they will have trouble kicking and these friends will have to be changed forever.

Hey bro...

Meth is a VERY scary drug man... My sister moved with her boyfriend out to oregon from the east coast 13 years ago... They've been together every day since. About a year ago he bought a bike and got into the biker/meth scene out there. It's completely destroied their relationship and messed up my sisters life. She says she doesn't know who he is anymore. He's deep in debt, and has lost his business and his car.

My advice is to do anything you can to help her... Find out WHY she is using such a harsh drug, and find something else to fix that problem, quick. Therepy, switching schools and or neighborhoods is not out of the question if it gets any worse... Granted these aren't your calls to make, but you might talk to her mom about it.

didnt have to test her afterall. she fessed up to it and talked it out with her and my gf family. it seems that her parents slip up as affected her alot more than they thought it would. her dad is a total nutcase and we are all glad that hes tottally out the picture, but were gonna get her some counsoling and really monitor her during/after school. turns out she was ditching school and fallin behind. she in total lockdown and im the warden. glad it wasnt worse. thanks everyone for all the support.
