Same here bro. Last year was the greatest for me cause I met this girl which right now shes my girlfriend. I trained like crazy for 2-3 months because I liked her so much and I knew I wasnt the only one after her. At the end I guess I was the lucky one. All I said to myself was "NO COMPETITION", LOL. Right now I do it for me and to keep in shape and look good.

I would have to say from quitting smoking and gaining weight!! Flucuating so bad all the time!! I don't like feeling loose(ha might be wrong terminology)lol!! I like the feeling of the energy and rush you get from working out and running!! I was starting to feel insecure about myself and I have never felt that way!! So working out makes me feel 100% better

Well I wouldn't call what I was doing the fitness life style unti recently. My blood pressure was 185/105 but I didn't care. I was all about being as large as possible. I got into weight training because of old arnold movies. I seen that and just thought it looked cool. I would screw around with weights once in a while when I was young but didn't really get into it until I was about 18. The main thing I noticed about weightlifting was it was a good place to get rid of aggression. Then I just started setting goals and would achieve them then set higher ones. I just kept going. I remeber when my goal was 185lbs then I said 200lbs would be perfect, then 210 then 220lbs then 250lbs then 300lbs was my goal.lol The highest I maid ilt was 260lbs. I'm sort of sick of the hole do whatever it takes to get large thing and I took some time off and shrunk to about 230lbs. I think I'm just going to cut to 220lbs and maintiain that all summer. I went through some personal things and I just don't have it in me anymore to go for the bodybuilding look like 250-300lbs. I did this shit for 6 yrs and cared about nothing else but now I'm ready to live some and enjoy life, marry my girl, and have a family. Who knows though once I get things down I might be ready to try and get large again. I know I'm pathetic.lol

I think this is a good time to use on of my favorite quotes from one of my buddies, " I dont want to be ripped or anything, I just dont want my tits to jiggle when I brush my teeth"

until the jiggle stops...... I wont stop!!!!

I'm 6'4" and in my 20's I was 345lbs. I decided to loose the weight first then started lifting weights on occasion. Now it's a way of life and I feel great at 245lbs. I can honestly say I have never been in this kind of condition. It also helps alot having boards such as this one for support and knowledge with training, nutrition, supplements, etc...

well after I got out of rehab in my freshmen year of college for meth and alcohol, I had to have something to do, I guess I just traded habits, only this time it's much healthier.

i am getting married in a year so I wanted to be in shape for my honeymoon.
6 months ago I was 6ft tall and like 175lbs, as of this afternoon I am 215. Plus if i get a divorce then It will be easier to get a woman when I am in shape
Now who I am is who I'll be until I die
either accept it or don't fuck with it

I was always a small fry. My friend was into killin weights, he got me into it. The funny thing is, is he got into drugs heavy, so his physique went down hill, while mine went up.
Then lifting kept me out of trouble.
Now it keeps me focused, I have reason. I know workin out and improving myself physically also keeps me out of depression.

I was a fat lard guy. A friend needed somebody to motivate him to go - have no idea why he picked me. Ended up being the one pushing him and just kind of got into it. Now I go alone and love it. It's one of the few challenging things that I do.

I played organized sports all my life. I loved the competition and the attention from the ladies. I was always big and athletic, so the sports were pretty easy. When I was a freshman in high school a friend of mine started lifting, and the next thing I knew he was throwing me around while wresting even though he was smaller. At that moment, I knew I had to do something about that. Started working out like crazy, and realized how much better it was making me in sports and with the ladies. Went to collage on a football scholarship, so I just carried it over. I didn’t do any gear until the summer before my junior year when a pro-wrestler I worked out with sometimes gave 25 A-Bombs and said take 1 a day until they are gone. Next thing I new I was benching 485 and throwing around starting guards in the SoCon and SEC. Dam that was fun. Now I do it so I don’t balloon up to 300+, the confidence, and of course- the ladies.
