broken bones q

i've never had a broken bone before.. i dislocated & broke my shoulder on jan the 10th... i'm still going for tests and stuff till they decide what to do... they haven't done a thing... except putting the shattered ball into the cracked socket the night i did it...
how much time does it usually take till u have surgery? is there a time limit? i mean the little chunks of the bone will probably start fusing together by the time they decide to do something with it...

I got a finger cut off...I took off a year for surgeries and healing.

k update.....
saw another specialist today...
he didnt do shit... said to come back in 3 weeks see if its healed (fused back together)
if yes, good for me...
if no, the chunks will have dissolved by then. and what they will have to do then is bone grafting.. take a piece of bone from my hip or so and fill in the missing part of the bone
which i think is BULLSHIT, they could just put it back now togethetr so that they wouldnt have do do twice the fkin work
this one didnt say nothing about shoulder replacement... which is good...
rotator cuff is totally torn... yet he said he wont try repair it yet...
he said that actually my ligaments pulled so hard on the bone that they litterary ripped out chunks of the bone... shattered the ball of the humerus... guess i got stronger ligaments than bones..

sooooo... i'm to relax and do nothing for the next 3 week... grrrrrrreat...
