Hey bro.. It's not all that hard.

1st thing you need to do is find your motherboard manul. Most of them have the information on how to overclock right inside.

To overclock the CPU, I didn't need any software. But I did need software to overclock the video card.

Post up your motherboard model number, I may be able to find the manual online and tell you more.

      Frig: No toasted kitties either!

Hmmm... well mine is the P4G8X. Can't be too much different.
What happens with mine is.. 1st I set the speed to MANUAL. This then allows me to change the "Front Side Bus Speed" setting directly below. The change of this setting is what changes the CPU speed. Read below.

Here's a short lesson in overclocking for you:

Your total CPU speed comes from a multiplier of your Front Side Bus (FSB) speed. In the case of my Celeron 2.4Ghz it was a 100MHz FSB with a 24X multiplier.
        100Mhz * 24 = 2400Mhz = 2.4Ghz

So in order to change your CPU speed, we either have to change the FSB speed or the CPU multiplier. If I was to change the multiplier to 25 insted of 24, I'd now have my processor running as 2.5Ghz!

BUT! We run into a problem. Intel pissed on our overclocking parade! They now ship all processors with the CPU multiplier locked from the factory. No matter how hard you try, you cannot change that multiplier. Not all is lost tho... we can still change the Front Side Buss Speed.

With my 2.4Ghz Celeron, I changed the FSB speed from 100Mhz to 125Mhz. The celeron chip has it's multiplier locked at 24x.
        So 125Mhz * 24 = 3000Mhz=3.0Ghz

No problem right? Wrong! You see, the processor isn't the only thing running on the FSB. There's things like your video card, hard drive, sound, etc that all run off the FSB. Usually these components are alot more sensitive to overclocking than the processor.

Luckily! My Asus motherboard has been built with a special feature. It allows me to change the FSB speed for the CPU only. In essence, it's done specifically to get around what intel was trying to prevent by locking the multiplier. Most of the newer motherboards today have this feature.
