  • a show on hbo

I'm watching right now about a kid with downs syndrome going through highschool. It is sad as shit,I felt so bad just thinking of what I took advantage of in my life,I even just told myself I am gonna go and volunter somewhere next week for hanicapped/mental retarded kids.Made my mind up.

It is sad. But Ill tell you what, working with kids like that really is fun. They dont take much to make them happy and are easily entertained. Usually, they are happy just to have somebody treat them as a friend and not as an object.

I used to always talk to the ones in my highschool. I always stuck up for them to other punk ass kids. I get so pissed at people that fuck with them.

I encrouage you to volunteer. But do it for the right reason, not to make you feel better about yourself, but to make them feel better. (not that you are).

After I got divorced I went from barbell curls to 12oz curls and what pulled me out of it was seeing these two down syndrome kids in my neighborhood. Every morning they go for a walk in exercise gear and try to better themselves and here I was destroying myself. Not anymore brothers.

I know what you mean brother. I have this buddy of mine he's 28 or 29 mentally retarded. Well Im 21 right now and I met this guy when I was a freshmen in high school and he was a senior. Everyday when I used to go to my recreaction center to work out he would be there playing basketball. I just got so used to the guy that I would play ball with him. Then after a while I met his mother and she was cool, I told her how I clicked with her son and then we talked about working out. Cause my friend was gaining weight her mom told me to help him out in getting into shape. Well that was kool for me, so everytime I would go and work out he'd be there and last the 2 hours with me lifting weights. For a person who is mentally retarded this guy doesnt look like it. He would leg press 250 pounds for 15-20 reps, lat pull-downs with around 100 pounds which for me was amazing. I just treat him like a regular person. OH, when we were at the gym working out these girl would come in and work out too, I would tell Beto to show them his muscles and he would flex his arms and make his chest move. The guy comes basically everyday looking for me here in my house. My friend is an awesome person to hang out with and talk too. I treat all people the same no matter how you look like , ect.
