If you are having trouble staying logged in when navigating between forums/topics/etc., you need to reset your session cookie. Go into your browser and delete any cookie for the site them log back in. This should fix the login issue.
Personaly I don't believe in new years resolutiuon. The only way your going to stick with it is if it's something you truely want. And if you really want to do it...then why do you need to wait for a certain day to start?

Lol..gotcha. If you actually want to keep your resolution, why not go for something a little easier to obtain. Like "Cut my alcohol consumption in 1/2". Cause after you break your resolution, you'll have no motivation to keep working towards your goal.

I've learnt to always ask if we can "work in". Usually if it's a newbie they will become nervous and just say "Nah, have it man I'm done".
