  • It was like someone was welding inside my computer!

I've never seen a powersupply meld down like that before!

I was playing a game on my computer when it suddenly beeped and shut off. When I bent down and started pressing the power button all hell broke loose. There was some crazy sparks, the whole case lit up...it kinda looked like someone was welding in there. Ohhh... and lots of nasty smelling smoke belched out!

Luckily it didn't blow anything else up on it's way out. $35 for a cheapie powersupply and the old gaming system is good to go!
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.

hooking your PC up to 480ac does not make it work faster.

Nope, the bear trap and all of it's parts have been temporarily dismantled do to safety concerns. Plus I was just finally getting into Might and Magic IX when the PC melted down and I was choked I couldn't play the game

THey are dead simple. You probably couldn't hook something up wrong if you wanted to. I built my 1st PC when I was 14yo and had no idea of what I was doing...

I had the same thing happen to my power supply. My pc shut down on me a couple of times the day before and the day it happened. Had stinky smoke coming out of it and when I look inside I saw flames. Never seen anything like it.
